Located in Roissy-en-France, Charles de Gaulle international airport is constantly growing. The flow of travellers from all over the world requires efficient, sustainable premises and infrastructure.
Taxis are the preferred means of transport to the capital, and play a strategic role in the airport hub, requiring dedicated facilities to guarantee their efficiency: the rear base, a transit area for vehicles operating on the site. The project is located near the east access and the runways of terminal 2. The two buildings, erected at right angles to each other, encircle the site as an extension of the surrounding green spaces.
The programme is divided between the operations building, including the control room on the first floor with its panoramic view and housing the inlet and outlet gutters, and the logistics strip housing the common areas. The two buildings have been given a similar treatment, combining prefabricated concrete facades and anthracite matt lacquered metal roofs. The central area is dedicated to taxis, with a parking scheme that allows the flow of vehicles to be self-regulated. A perimeter fence ensures the security of the site.
